A Coordination between the International Program at Al-Quds Open University and Professor Ahmed Al-Ahmad, Director of the Arab Center for Services and Notary Public in the State of California, led to a meeting between Prof. Dr. Samir Najdi, the university president, during his visit to the state, and leaders of the Palestinian community. The attendees included Professor Iyad Afalqah, Ms. Samila Afalqah, Mr. Youssef Ghneim, Mr. Malik Douik, Mr. Adnan Abu Sham, Mr. Tawfiq Tuma, and Mr. Khalil Jarar. Prof. Dr. Samir Najdi provided an overview of the university and its international program, highlighting the university’s role in offering higher education services to our students in Palestine and members of the Palestinian diaspora through the international program.
The meeting also addressed the university’s need for assistance from the community members in providing scholarships to students through donations from various charitable organizations in the United States. This idea was met with responsiveness and support from the attendees, who expressed their readiness to support and contribute to enhancing this initiative.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Samir Najdi thanked the attendees for accepting the invitation, emphasizing the importance of supporting education in Palestine and maintaining communication with the Palestinian diaspora abroad. The organizers of the meeting confirmed that they would follow up with all attendees to crystallize this initiative and work towards achieving its goals.
